Christmas on Highland Prime Steakhouse, SM Mall of Asia

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you!!!

I celebrated my Christmas with my parents yesterday in SM MOA, It is a first time for us to celebrate it outside our homes, we usually have house parties. However, this Christmas is different because all our relatives are either outside of the country or also having their celebrations elsewhere.

Me and My parents decided to have it in SM MOA for a change (my other siblings are outside of the country so it's practically me and my folks only).

We had our late lunch at Highland Steakhouse.

This was my second visit in the restaurant and I think they had a change in management because of different set of menu, interiors and services.

They have retained some of the original interior layout. The use of wood made a homey and warm ambiance in the area.

These are the new parts of the restaurant, from what I remember this was the veranda the restaurant had before, but I think this is better because the tropical setup of the country makes it not suitable to dine in at the veranda in daytime.

So now on to the food! We ordered half rack baby back ribs each for 500PHP per plate. I'm really satisfied with the serving size per plate, it's like I know where my money went without all the shenenigans. The ribs are tender and delicious, but I think it has too much sauce for my liking but It's great!

We also ordered 1 serving of Arizona Summer Salad for 350php. Our waiter, Aljur, told us that the salad is for sharing up to 3 people and truth be told that I was indeed for 3 to 4 servings actually.... IT'S A LOT!

We also had spaghetti carbonara for 350 php, it is also for sharing up to 3 people. Unlike other carbonaras I had this one is my favorite because it has a lot of toppings (BACON and mushroom!).

We really had a good time dining here, the ambiance was great, it is totally different from the christmas chaos happening in SM MOA and the view by the seaside is really great.

12 days of Christmas style inspiration-day 11

It's Christmas Eve and to make our parties more fun and fashionable, we should celebrate in a very stylish way too!

Here is my style inspiration for the Christmas Eve! Silver is one of my favorite colors, but I seldom have pieces with silver because it usually exudes formality. Although silver pieces give that aura, it definitely gives class and glamour everytime we wear it.

Feathers are becoming a staple fashion piece in 2015. It exudes elegance, class and royalty like the monarchs in the past (think of Marie Antoinette) who usually wore feathers, laces and jewelries.

Baroque was first known in 1600 to 1750AD. It design it is identified with intricate designs or embellishments on the Interiors or Architecture, this is also the period where gold was used as a design element. In Music it is identified as a for elaborate musical ornamentation. On Fashion, this period was known for embroideries and highly accessorized clothes.

In the late 2012, Baroque fashion was again revived by Dolce and Gabbana. After its revival, it became a staple piece for almost every personality, It is classy, sophisticated and edgy all in one.

Another trend for 2015 is the oversized blanket coat which makes winter warmer and definitely fashionable. The trend started after the Fall Burberry fashion show which showed a mass of blanket coats and the Boho Fashion show of Valentino which showed wrapped dresses, fringes and ponchos as their pieces that will reign supreme for the 2015 street style.

12 days of Christmas style inspiration-day- 03

I'm always a fan of black and gold combination because it makes me look glamorous and effortless at the same time. I have a tendency to wear black clothes when I am really lazy dressing up, but to save myself from boring style, I usually add gold and silver bangles or any gold or silver accents.

So for my Christmas style inspiration day 03, I always had in mind is Serena Vanderwoodsen from Gossip Girl series and how she looks like a goddess wearing gold

She always looks effortless and chic, she is usually known to have that laid-back fashion style mixed with the classic style (think of Blair Warldorf). She usually mixes boho to classic or rock and classic, these techniques usually make her glamorous without trying.

12 days of Christmas style inspiration-day- 02

This is the second day for my style inspiration. I always like to have a fur coat, but since I'm living in a tropical country it is, sadly, out of the question... Anyway I love the combination of comfort and glam, it makes the style look effortless and chic! Fur coats usually exude glam and elegance and combining it to a comfy maxi dress and sandals creates a romantic, glamorous and effortless style.

Maxi Dress: Alesia; Fur coat: topshop; clutch bag: Stella Mccartney; Sandals: Aquazzura crystal flat sandals.

12 days of Christmas style inspiration-day- 01

I'll be posting Christmas style inspiration in a 12 days of Christmas fashion!! Well, we should keep our spirits high, so I'll be starting with my style inspiration/ wishlist!

Top: white crop top from intermix, Skirt:MSGM eye printed mini skirt, Jacket: Leather Jacket from Forever 21, Shoes: Balenciaga boots

I really love rock/ edgy fashion so leather is a must have item in my closet, but looking at the fashion trends for 2015, I am, loving the Avant Pop vibe although I prefer more of the abstract designs rather than photorealistic designs.

So for my Day 01 I really love the balenciaga boots, it's stylish, classy and very edgy; it completely describes my personality, I just wish I had a lot of money to buy this beauty. I prefer cool colors rather than having a warm or strong colors I think it's because of how I usually hide my petite frame, strong colors, usually create a focal point on one or two parts of my frame.. Avant Pop is a mixture of the 1960's modern pop art where Andy Warhol became very famous with his paintings and color palette.

by Andy Warhol
Pop Art usually plays with the 3 basic colors which are red, blue and yellow and these colors tend to "pop" when mixed or usually on their own. The palette of this art period became the inspiration of Avant Pop. The avant garde for the avant pop fashion takes its inspiration on structuralist and novelty style of the 90's design.
