How to End 2015

Well in a few hours it will be the end of 2015 and we can now face another 365 days of new beginnings!

Christmas and New Year for me this 2015 is quite different. This is my first Christmas as a "yuppie" or young professional... So it definitely means that I don't get to receive a lot of gifts now, instead I am the one whose giving gifts now. Nah just joking, I still love Christmas like how a kid loves it.. I just have different priorities now :)

I actually had my December booked with several Christmas celebrations and dinners with friends and families. So It was pretty jampacked and tiring at the same time.

December 11: Me and my college friends had our Christmas lunch at Cyma Greek Taverna at Greenbelt 2. They serve authentic greek cuisine that's really sumptuous and affordable. Their vegetarian meals are delicious and I love their fillet mignon :)

Revel offers a more 90s to early 2000 beats that makes us nostalgic and also makes us dance to it! Valkyrie on the other hand offers a wilder and eager crowd.

Advanced birthday celebration at Gino's brick oven pizza

It's been months since I had posted here in my blog because of my busy schedule on my day job.

Anyway, October has been one of my favorite months of the year because it's my birthday month, of course, and with the culture here in the Philippines, Christmas preparation starts by this month.

It's also became my tradition to divide my celebration into weeks or to have different celebrations with different set of people. I usually celebrate with friends a week earlier from my birthday and on the exact day with my family; I don't know its some kind of privacy and to avoid awkward conversations from different people.

So I decided to treat my friends to Gino's brick oven pizza at Tordesillas St. in Salcedo Village. The experience was totally worth it, from ambiance, space, location and ofcourse for food!.

Gino's is located in Tordesillas St. cor Bautista street. and it's near Three Salcedo Place.

We had Burrata Caprese for appetizers, it is made of  Burrata Cheese, pesto, basil and cherry tomatoes. It is perfect with bread and it's not oily and perfectly healthy too!

Their pizzas are to die for!, they are made with thin wheat bread crust too so you'll not be to worred about carbs or calories.

We were halfway through when I remembered that I need to take a picture of this hahaha! this is Bianca verde, it's made out of  Garlic, Olive Oil, Goat cheese, ricotta, parmesan, basil and arugula

We also had BOMB, it's made out of Balsamic Onions, Mozarella, Mushrooms and Blue cheese. It's flavorful and there's a balance of sweetness and saltiness at the same time.

I forgot to take a picture of the lemon mushroom pasta and stuffed chicken pasta, but they are totally worth to try! They are creamy and flavorful all in one.

I will definitely going back to this place and my money is totally worth it too!

IDINA MENZEL LIVE IN MANILA!

Sorry it took me a week after the concert to post this life changing (for me) and super exciting concert of Idina Menzel here in Manila. I am also still having a PCD also known as Post Concert Depression and my full fangirl mode for the whole week. I have also been listening to all her singles/albums and musical recordings and even replaying all the concert videos uploaded in youtube (yah... Truly my full fangirl mode).

Well, I have been a fan of her since 2005 through her movie Rent. I was still in my freshman year in high school and I was also a part of the theatre club,we were asked to create a number with the song Seasons of Love, me being as annoyingly ignorant as I am never knew that song! So I went to the nearest music store, search for any album or CD that could help me with the task and I ended up buying a VCD or Rent, and that is where my full fangirl moment started.

Anyway, it is a dream come true for me and to all her fans here in Manila to see her! Words can't explain the energy we had in her concert. It was truly magical, amazing and all magnificent words we can associate her with (HAHA! I really can't express it without being so much of a fangirl).

It was a 2 hour concert in MOA Arena, She started with Defying gravity and I was not prepared for that and I think that is the reason I was not able to record any of her videos in the concert....

video from youtube.

She sang songs from her album I Stand (which I have her whole album on iTunes) and Still I can't be still. My favorite parts were when she sang The Wizard and I;

video from youtube

When she sang No Day but today where the whole audience light up their flashlights in camera and waved it creating a constellation which makes the song more emotional.

I also love the time she sang her rendition of Creep by Radiohead. It was my OMG moment as she can still reach the high notes while she is sprawled on the stage.

video from youtube

My most favorite part of the concert was when she sang For Good in Acapella (pure talent at its finest). It felt so emotional and heartfelt that by the end the audience sang the last part with her like we made a new friend.

video from youtube

She also sang take me or leave me with 3 lucky people who had also have pipes! She even had a selfie with them!

I also found it amusing that she sang a part of Let it go in Filipino... It's too cute and kind of awkward for me because we never sung it in Filipino and if we ever translate the song it Filipino.. We'll be having a big problem with looking for the perfect translation. You see there is something with the Filipino language that make it hard to be translated into any other language and vice versa without totally rephrasing the whole song. Our words tend to be longer on most english words and longer for shorter english words. Sometimes one english word is a phrase when translated in Filipino.

Nevertheless it was really amusing to hear Let it go in Tagalog and even sung by Idina herself.

video from youtube

I love the "Idinafied" last part of Let it go! I love the alternative rock twist with it!

She also had two encores were she sang Child which will be a part of her new album and another is Tomorrow (from Annie).

It was really a dream come true to me having to see her so close (yet so far). I wsih she'll come back to Manila for another concert huhuhuhu!

Every year, The School and Design and Arts of DLS-CSB showcases the best of the best artworks and projects at the end of the school year. It could be compared into a Month long Arts Festival with talks, workshops, plays, competitions from all the 13 programs of the school. (Arts Management, Fashion, Production Design, Industrial Design, Interior Design, Architecture, Music Production, Multimedia Arts, Photography, Animation, Dance and Theater Arts.)

This year the exhibit for the Architecture program is comprised of portfolio reviews of all design classes for the school year 2014-2015 and it is an open house event from March 21 to April 18. Each mentor per design class will vote the best works from their studio. On the day of the opening, there will be a design review for each participant on their respective panels where they would present their design to the Dean, The School's President/ Chairman and to the visiting Architects as they will act as the jury.  3 different awards will be given by the end of the day: The Students' Choice award. The Mentors' Choice award and the industry award.

Here are some images from the PO.RE exhibit
